Historical Society installs 2003 board, seeks two at-large members and announces
FREE SHOWING OF HISTORIC MORRO BAY PHOTOS AT MAY 4 POTLUCK
**************************************************************************************

The Historical Society of Morro Bay installed its 2003 Board of Directors at its first meeting of 2003. The executive officers are Gary Ream, President;  Nancy Castle, Vice-President, Jane Cortella, Secretary; and Mary Lou Marshall, Treasurer. Members-at-large are Dorla Brebes and Paul Twedt.

The organization is seeking two more at-large members for the Board.

The Historical Society of Morro Bay is dedicated to identifying and preserving knowledge about the history of Morro Bay. It has developed a walking tour brochure for Downtown Morro Bay highlighting the many old buildings in the area. The brochure is available at the Chamber of Commerce and many of the local businesses.

The next meeting, on May 4th, will feature a show-and-tell evening of old pictures of Morro Bay. The Historical Society files will be opened, with classic and newly found pictures digitally projected on a screen for all to see.  Everyone is encouraged to bring their old pictures to share, along with their memories and recollections.

The meetings include a potluck dinner and a very short business meeting which ends with a raffle for a variety of door prizes. Everyone is welcome;  bring a dish that will serve six and your own place-setting.

The Society has quarterly meetings, held on Sunday evenings in February,  May, August and October at the Grange Hall, 1340 Atascadero Road.

For more information, please call Gary Ream at 772-1058.
