Undercover Bookstore in Morro Bay will host a book reading and signing of five local authors on Saturday, December 3, 2005 from 1-3 P.M.
Jennifer des Plantes, Babara M. Hodges, Maggie Pucillo,(Stargazer’s
Children) Spence Stimler (No Silver Spoon) and Michael Corob (Story
Paintings in our Hearts) will read from their latest books on science
fiction, fantasy, memoirs, and poetry. They will share how their books
were inspired and created, and they will be on hand to answer questions.
There will be refreshments and prize drawings for signed books and gift
certificates. The bookstore is located at 3118 Main St., Morro Bay. For

A few months ago Sheila Butterworth, the owner of The Bookworm in Santa Maria,
introduced me to the four other authors who had come into the store. Together we
enthusiastically created, planned, refined and lead a book reading for the grand
opening of the bookstore. We found we have things in common: we took up writing
later in our careers, we write from our hearts and imaginations, and we have
aspirations to make a difference with our writing.
I am confident that your readers will be interested in hearing about Spence’s
experiences growing up during the Depression, how three authors collaborated in
a book, what inspired me to write The Blue Flame, The Emerald Dagger, and The
Silver Angel. How Mike combines poetry and painting, and how writing
enriches our lives. I have collected background material about each book and
each author, a photo of the group, and the books themselves. I would be
happy to share these with you as well as contact information for each of the
authors. Perhaps we can all come into the newsroom at the same time for a
interview.
