Charles Curtis Beebe graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 1963. He is a Board Certified Psychiatrist, who practiced for twenty-seven years in Pennsylvania and South Carolina. He retired in 1998 because of Parkinson's Disease.
In 1999 he moved to California, and became interested in Poison-Oak. He lectures, writes and leads poison-oak walks. He also cuts, uproots and transplants it. His Pamphlet "Poison-Oak Identification" is in its Fourth Edition. Incidentally, Dr. Beebe is allergic to poison-oak.
Dr. Beebe is president of the docent council (2002) of the California State Parks in the San Luis Obispo Coast District.
